How We Made Salsa Ball 2011 Work
Putting together Salsa Ball 2011 was a lot of advance planning and hard work, but it was also a lot of fun. Here's how we spent the morning of March 5th:The team and committee arrived around 11am, and started with blowing up a million balloons:
We split into two groups: half of us went to decorate the larger room where the performances were held, and the other half stayed in the "bachata lounge", where we unleashed our previously tamed creativity:

At the ball, did you realize that the live-sized pictures of dancers in the lounge were actually portraits of Pia Wojtinnek and Sasha Cooper? Well now you know.
And after all the unexpected difficulties with putting up the paper version of Pia:
Meanwhile, the rest of us were being extremely inventive about how to get the banquet rolls to stick to walls. What we've discovered, collaboration does wonders!
